A Message from Our Principal

Dear ReStart Academy Community,

Joan M. Indart-Etienne

Welcome to school year 2023–2024, our 17th year! I'm proud to look back and celebrate all of our accomplishments and growth as a program that has successfully served so many students who were previously disengaged from their academic journey.

As I reflect on our last 16 years, I have tremendous pride in all our team has accomplished together. Each of our students has come to us having experienced challenges and obstacles, but while attending ReStart Academy has been able to engage in school and experience academic success. It is because of the hard work and dedication of our exceptional staff that we have celebrated success for so many of NYC's previously disengaged students.

At ReStart Academy, we consistently adhere to our vision and mission that guide us in providing the best educational opportunities to our students by using rigorous curriculum and instructional methods, setting high expectations for staff and students, preparing students for college and/or the workforce, providing social-emotional support, and most importantly, having a clear understanding of and addressing each student's current academic and social-emotional needs.

I remain dedicated to ensuring the best possible academic experiences for ReStart students and families, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions or student referrals.

Sincerely,

Joan M. Indart-Etienne
