Students at ReStart Academy at Dynamite Brooklyn kicked off unit one of the New Visions Biology curriculum with a case study lab on cellular respiration. Using the scenario of a marathon runner who collapsed, students applied the scientific method to investigate what may have happened while exploring how cells break down glucose to produce ATP. The hands-on investigation helped students connect classroom learning to a real-world biological problem.
