Site Highlights

Students at ReStart Academy at Prospect Heights have been engaged in an after school club with education paraprofessional Katherine Reina and community partnership coordinator Stacey Michael where they have been learning how to create design products using the Cricut machine.

Sites across ReStart hosted holiday celebrations prior to winter break.

Students from several ReStart Academy sites – CARES, Outreach House, and Adolescent Skills Bronx and Queens – participated in a coach bus trip to SUNY Farmingdale State College campus.

Students at August Martin had the opportunity to visit Queensborough Community College along with their school counselors, Cristian Muentes and Luz Cintron.

As part of the Chancellor’s Meeting the Moment initiative to promote inclusion and combat hate, students from many of the Restart Middle School sites attended field trips to the Jewish Children’s Museum or the Museum of Jewish Heritage.

CARES and Eagle Academy students attended the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day with social worker Ilse Gomez and guidance counselor Iris Gruber which was hosted at the United Nations.

Students at ReStart Academy sites are working with our longtime partner, Doing Art Together, in weekly art classes.
