Personal Development
The ReStart staff at each site is well-equipped to meet our students’ social and emotional needs to support their academic, behavioral, and personal success.
Each ReStart Academy site has a student support team, including a school counselor or social worker, who provide individual counseling and conduct group sessions. Our school counselors also provide intensive support in navigating transitions to an appropriate school setting when students are ready to move on from ReStart. Depending on the student’s academic level, transition support may include the high school application process, college and career development, the college application process, and exploring appropriate transfer schools and vocational training programs.
Foundational to our work in supporting all ReStart students’ personal development is the full integration of the 7 Mindsets curriculum into our guidance and academic programs. 7 Mindsets creates a common language for all students, educators, staff, and families, promoting improved relationships, reduced behavioral issues, and improved confidence and academic performance.
