Adolescent Skills Center Queens of Vibrant Emotional Health

Services: This is a supportive and comprehensive vocational and educational program with a unique focus on mental health and wellness. We provide a full range of strength-based, intensive educational, emotional wellness, and vocational programming. In addition to TASC preparation, youth enrolled in the ReStart Academy will have an opportunity to participate in vocational assessment and evaluation, career exposure, vocational and educational remediation, and social-emotional support services.

Admission Process: Youth, ages 17–21 may call, walk in, or be referred. Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the initial intake.

Outreach House I

Services: We provide a three- to nine-month, highly structured residential substance abuse facility for 12- to 18-year-old adolescents. Youth participate in evidence-based group and individual counseling. Through our multi-modal approach, Outreach House I offers a diverse array of therapeutic activities within a structured therapeutic milieu. We also provide medical, psychiatric, and nursing services to comprehensively treat the most complex cases. The client's treatment is based upon his/her level of self-help and the family systems approach with peer support as a major component.

ReStart Academy provides a small classroom setting to promote academic achievement and support and helps expose residents to various educational opportunities by escorting students to colleges and trade schools and hosting guest speaker presentations covering a range of topics. Our services help residents develop self-esteem and learn necessary life skills that will aid in their academic success.

Admission Process: 

  1. The guardian of the prospective client must complete a phone screen.
  2. Once our intake department receives the information from the phone screening, we will contact you to schedule an assessment (at which you must provide the required documents).
  3. Upon the review of all documents and completion of the assessment, the intake department will determine if your child meets the criteria for residential level of care. If your child meets the criteria, the intake department will schedule a date and time to admit your child into the program.

Queens Court Academy

Services: We serve adolescents between the ages of 15 and 21 years old who have a history of legal, academic, and/or behavioral concerns. Our students benefit from a low student-to-staff ratio, weekly support groups, personalized online learning platforms, and a nurturing learning environment. Queens Court Academy maintains a collaborative relationship with criminal court, family court, NYC Department of Probation, and a variety of community-based outpatient substance abuse and mental health providers.

Application Process: Interested parties should contact Agency Director Jason Moston to schedule an admissions appointment. All candidates must meet with agency staff and complete the necessary admissions paperwork.

Samaritan Daytop Village

Services: We serve 16- through 20-year-olds with individual counseling utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques; mental health services including individual psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management; and family counseling and psychoeducation for family members and significant others. Our group services include adolescent psychoeducation, adolescent group-based treatment using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), living sober social skills focused on peer interaction, and gender and relationship focus groups.

Admission Process: Though we accept walk-ins, we prefer interested parties make an appointment to meet with us. A parent or guardian must accompany adolescents under 18 years of age.
