ReStart students from Outreach House visited the Tenement Museum, bringing their study of the Progressive Era to life while deepening their understanding of immigrant life. Students connected their learning across history and science by recognizing that the coal used to power the building was a fossil fuel from their recent energy unit. Special thanks to Mr. LaRose for organizing the trip and guiding students’ historical connections and to Ms. Mejia for chaperoning and helping students make meaningful scientific connections.
