This spring, students from DYC Brooklyn engaged in social emotional themes while working with Doing Art Together. The artist, Ms. Rute introduced to the students the concept of connecting emotions and art through the use of varying shapes, shades, and mediums including paint, watercolors, and pastels. They also had the opportunity to have their art work displayed throughout the site on every floor of the building. After the art exhibition, the work remains on display for everyone to enjoy. One student said, “This is great! I feel like my work is hanging in a real art gallery.” Another one said, “I really enjoyed my time working with Ms. Rute. She is a professional artist and taught us so much about the different types of art that we can create.”
